April 23, 2007 At 0703 hours, Lisbon Fire Department was dispatched for a medical emergency at the Lisbon Incinerator Plant. While units were en route, dispatch informed units that there was a possible second medical emergency at the same location. Upon arrival, Rescue 554 was informed the emergencies were on the 5th and 7th floors of the plant. Due to the accessibility to the patients, and manpower required for the extrication, mutual aid was requested from Taftville Fire Department. Both departments worked extremely efficient together in order to get both patients out of the building in a timely manner. Both patients were transported by ambulance to Backus Hospital with injuries sustained from a high pressure hose failure. Many thanks to the Taftville Fire Department, American Ambulance, and the workers at the incinerator for a job well done.
