August 31, 2007 Just after 1400 hours, the Lisbon Fire Department was dispatched for a problem at a propane filling station at the Ross Hill Campground. First responding firefighters arrived to find an active leak from a large propane tank that was hooked up to a RV behind the campground store. The building along with the immediate area was evacuated as a precaution. As the first truck arrived, Engine 154, a 1 3/4" hand line was pulled and put into action for personal protection. Car 554 established command and requested Jewett City Fire Department for man power as SCBA crews had to be rotated in and out of the area due to the extreme heat that day. After about 30 minutes, the leak was controlled and was finally blamed on a faulty valve on the RV's end. The call luckily went text book and after cleaning up all units returned
