April 28, 2008  At 0739 hours the Lisbon Fire Department, along with automatic mutual aid from Taftville and Jewett City, responded to a reported kitchen fire at 7 Graham Terrace.  Prior to apparatus arrival, the home owner was able to extinguish the fire that ignited a clothes basket and caused minor damage to a floor and wall.  Upon Car 554's arrival, the call was put under control releasing the Jewett City assignment and holding the Taftville assignment on scene for a short time.  Smoke ejectors were put into working order to clear out the residence.  Lisbon Fire Marshall notified and all units returned.
